I took this pic on the corner of 62nd and Adeline in Berkeley – which is right near the Oakland boarder. I see signs like these all over The Town. The other night, while waiting for the Dave Chappelle show at Yoshi’s in Oakland, two guys (maybe they were real estate moguls or lawyers – or both) almost spoke with glee about buying up properties in The Town and flipping them. One of the guys was particularly happy about “scoring” a house from an elderly woman that lived there for over 40 years. It’s like The Town is a diamond mine, and the greedy are robbing of it’s precious resources. I’m seriously concerned about how my city will look in the next 5 years. #photovoice #oaklandvoices
